Five cases of elastic bending

I have so far identified five cases of elastic bending in a thin strip:

Case #1
Two loose ends pushed together (2d).

Case #2
One clamped end, the loose end is pushed (2d).

 Case #3
Both ends clamped together to form a loop (2d).

Case #4Both ends clamped to form a loop, but with a distance sideways between endpoints (3d).

Case #5Both ends clamped and twisted to form a loop (3d).

  2. Thanks for your comment!
You're right, I haven't given much thought to the Möbius strip. I guess in my view it's too much of a special case.
However, Eugene Starostin and Gert van der Heijden at the Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics, Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, (University College London) gave the subject a closer look:

  3. Måste fråga, du har ingen aning om du är släkt med Otto Nettelbladt? (min pappa).

  4. Hej Carl, släkt är vi ju, frågan är bara hur. Kanske min farfar Hans vet mer, hans kontaktuppgifter finns här:
